2.2 - Mirror Updates & Web

Version Changes

For folks that prefer to access things on your computer, we now have our web app! You can head to https://app.labyrinthos.co and login with your existing credentials. Opening it on a mobile web browser will also look very familiar :)

Some Limitations:

  1. No Premium Decks. Our current contract with guest decks does not include website use. I'd likely have to renegotiate that for web access.
  2. Only Subscriptions. Right now you cannot buy credits or any other one time purchases. I plan to add them later on.
  3. Everything is still optimized for mobile. You'll probably see when you log in it's very similar to the mobile app. I want to keep it this way, because once again, it's just me, and making things vastly different from mobile will make my workload unfeasible.
  4. No access to mobile only actions. Obviously. But you can still do things like drag and drop your cards in free form readings, etc. Though these may be a little unstable.

Since this is relatively new, please be gentle on me! Let me know if you see any bugs; they're easier to fix on web than they are with mobile platforms.

In the future, I plan on doing a lot of my testing for new features on web, as it's a much quicker deploy process.

Card statistics

I’m a geek for keeping tracks of things so the “My Mirror” is great. However, I would love to see an entire list of cards and how often I pulled them, across a set time frame, maybe ordered by numbers of draws. It would be interesting to see if there’s some cards that has never been drawn. Or something like “Common Cards” of the “My Mirror” but on other end of the scale so to say.

The big change here is we added lenormand and rune statistics. To accomodate this change, we had to make a few changes to the UI.

The default view for the mirror is now this current month's statistics. It'll look a little empty on the first day of the month! You can page through the months at the top of the screen. You can still set a custom date range by tapping the calendar icon at the top.

You'll also see a full list of appearance rates for each month instead of the top 5 we used to have before.

There's now a section for "Cards Missing" during this period; so you'll know if you never drew the 4 of cups for the month.

These two sections appear for both lenormand, runes, and tarot.

Next, if you're on premium, you can also view your statistics by Moon Phase and Weekday. Here's some examples of how it looks like on my data. I had A LOT more majors on the new moon than during other phases. Viewing by Percentage instead of Total gives you an easier way to compare across phases or weekdays too.

AI Voice Chat - Experimental Feature: Premium and Web Users Only

Call Catssandra, Crowley, Owlcle and Nostradamouse! Here's something worth trying if you're on premium. You can continue to use the app as normal during the call, viewing your card meanings and so on and so forth.

At the end of the call, you get a transcript saved to the reading and the ability to rate your call. Let me know how you like it!

Limitations:

  1. It's only on web - meaning when you head to https://app.labyrinthos.co and login. I'm still hammering out how this works on mobile. It's much harder to do calls on mobile right now, so I'm hitting a roadblock. I'm hoping getting some feedback here will let me know whether it's even worth rolling out on the app.
  2. It's an expensive service from OpenAI, so I'm only allowing 10 minutes a month free for premium users. I expect as AI pricing drops, we can ramp up this number :)
  3. There are no ways for normal users to purchase usage of this yet. In the future we plan to also allow using credits.

What's Next?

I'm so late in writing this update; but I think the reasoning for that is that I'm feeling quite burnt out. I've been running into quite a few health problems this past month which has made it clear I need to start looking after myself better. In an effort to keep Labyrinthos alive this summer, I essentially threw myself into making a ton of features, at basically the cost of...everything else? It was a grueling routine, and my body can't really take much more of it.

I'll still be working on the app for the remainder of the year, but I'll likely take things a lot slower. Less features, and more maintainence. I'm also working on doing some restoration of public domain decks, like the 1760 Tarot de Marseille, which is a way more relaxing thing to do than some of my other work. What other old timey classical decks do you want to see that is already in the public domain?

Hope you all are doing well! Love you all!
